What an excellent event the Tarpey Open was, packed full of artists and buyers keen to get first dibs on the excellent work on show. I really enjoyed meeting the fellow makers and truly marvelling at the work. I only saw the invitation to apply to the Open at the last minute and I'm so glad I acted on it. As artists we beaver away making the work we feel compelled to make, sometimes having to resurrect our belief that it is all worth it (despite the bank balance!), so having a gallery that you genuinely respect take on your work definitely puts wood in your stove to keep your fire burning. This is the view as I entered the the gallery, I was thrilled to see my triptych directly opposite the main entrance!
